Ceramic Mentoring Program 2nd Term
Ceramic Mentoring Program: 11-Week Spring Term
7 April – 16 June 2026
The mentorship program is designed for practitioners who have a foundational knowledge of clay and are seeking a consistent, supportive environment to develop their personal practice. Unlike a structured workshop, this format prioritizes independent studio time with professional guidance available as needed. It is ideal for intermediate potters looking to refine their technique and grow at their own pace within a professional studio setting.
The Winter Residency is an 11-week immersive program designed for practitioners who are ready to commit to a season of focused growth. This is a structured mentorship for those who have moved past the basics and are seeking a professional environment to refine their technical precision and personal aesthetic.
By committing to a full winter term, you allow your work the time it needs to evolve through multiple firing cycles—moving from initial concepts in January to a finished body of work by the spring.
The Schedule
Sessions take place every Tuesday for 11 consecutive weeks.
Dates: April 7th — June 16th, 2026.
Morning Session: 10:00 – 13:00
Afternoon Session: 14:00 – 17:00
The Mentorship Structure
Self-Directed Practice: Use the studio as your own workspace to develop your personal projects.
Technical Guidance: I am present throughout every session to provide one-on-one troubleshooting, helping you master complex joins, refined trimming, or challenging glaze applications.
Professional Infrastructure: Full access to studio wheels, tools, and our high-temperature firing services.
What is Included
Studio Access: 33 hours of dedicated studio time over the 11-week term.
Firings: All bisque and glaze firings for work produced during residency hours.
Glazing: Use of the studio’s signature high-temperature glaze palette.
Storage: A dedicated shelf for your work-in-progress and personal tools for the duration of the residency.
Note: Clay is not included. You may purchase stoneware directly from the studio or bring your own (high-temperature stoneware only).
Why a Seasonal Residency?
Ceramics is a slow discipline that rewards consistency. The 11-week format moves beyond "taking a class" and enters the realm of "studio practice." It offers the luxury of time to experiment, iterate, and truly understand the material within a small, supportive community of only six makers.
Investment & Policies
Full Term Fee: 398€
Payment: A deposit is required to hold your spot, with the balance due before the first session. (Monthly installment options are available, please contact by email).
Attendance:Up to 3 missed sessions can be carried over to the following term (subject to availability) but are non-refundable.
Full Refund: Cancellations made within 48 hours of payment are eligible for a full refund, provided the residency has not yet started.
Partial Refund: Cancellations made up to 14 days before the start of the term (January 13th) are eligible for a 50% refund.
Non-Refundable: Once the residency begins, or if a cancellation is made within 7 days of the start date, fees are non-refundable. This is due to the limited number of spots and the long-term commitment required for the program.
Rescheduling & Missed Sessions
We understand that personal commitments or illness may occasionally result in a missed session. To maintain the momentum of your practice while respecting studio capacity, the following rules apply:
The 3-Session Limit: Residents are permitted to reschedule or "carry over" up to three (3) missed sessions per 11-week term.
Notice Required: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend your scheduled Tuesday slot. This allows us to manage the studio flow effectively.
Catch-up Window: These 3 carry-over sessions must be used within the current Winter Term or, if you renew your spot, within the first month of the following Spring Term.
No-Shows: If a session is missed without prior notice, it is considered forfeited and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
In the unlikely event that the studio must cancel a session (due to illness or emergency), a makeup date will be provided, or a credit for that specific session will be applied to your account.
