Hi, I’m Catarina — a ceramic artist living and working in the Algarve, Portugal.

My practice is grounded in the slow, quiet rituals of making — shaping, trimming, glazing, and firing. I work mostly with stoneware, inspired by natural forms, soft textures, and muted, earthy tones that bring a sense of calm. Each piece is handcrafted in small batches, honoring both tradition and experimentation. No two are ever exactly alike, and I cherish these subtle variations — the imperfections that give each object its own soul and story.

Much of my work develops through series — evolving intuitively over time. Some ideas grow and transform into something entirely new, others are set aside or revisited later with fresh eyes. This fluid approach means that each piece carries the mark of its own moment, shaped by curiosity rather than repetition. There is no intent to make the same thing twice, which makes every object truly one of a kind.

From bottles and soliflores to bowls and sculptural forms, my ceramics are created to be part of everyday life. They are meant to be touched, used, and lived with — bringing a sense of calm, grounding, and beauty into daily rituals and spaces.

I work out of a shared studio in Loulé, surrounded by a vibrant creative community. When I’m not at the wheel, I’m usually testing new glazes, leading workshops, or spending time with my family.

Thank you for being here — I hope you discover a piece that resonates with you and becomes part of your story.
